Not Your Grandmother's Cardigan
I'm seriously feeling the love for cardigans now. Not your grandfather's wooly, shapeless version. Cardis now are shrunken, striped, with funky buttons, casual, comfy, and totally cool.
Whether in punchy solids like the infamous J Crew Crewcuts worn by Sasha and Malia Obama, long and worn belted like Katie Holmes, or slouchy and cute like Rachel Bilson, cardigans are a wardrobe staple that is huge this season.
I love how these girls dressed up (or down) their cardis to make it their own style. Wow. Gotta steal the look!

Okay, you really have to go see what I stumbled upon ...
Minimalist products that are almost unrecognizable in form.
This, believe it or not, is a vacuum cleaner.

This house in Woodland, Utah was designed by Gigaplex Architects.
From the architects:
A cozy home to accommodate a single man and weekend guests, including grandchildren, next to Provo River. Two linked corrugated metal grain silos arranged to allow the largest (27’ diameter) to have the most proximate visual and aural access to the Provo River, and the southern exposure to ensure passive solar heat gain during the winter.
An electric mesh is embedded into the slabs of the lower floor as a first auxiliary heat source, and a propane-burning stove (manageable by internet) will provide the back-up. The metal grating and guard rail of the second level deck will provide shading into this great-room space during the summer months.
Includes a “Bed in a Box” concept, each one complete with stereo sound and flat screen monitor.

This actually reminds me of a piece of handmade artwork which I saw in a friend's house. You know who you are.

First it was stripes, then polka dots, then ribbons. Now i've gone and done it again. Fallen.
This time, it's zebra stripes. I think it started with this insanely chic zebra inspired wedding .

Zebra, used in moderation of course, is fantastic and fresh.

Like this zebra paper lantern which puts a fancy twist on an item done to death.
But I dont think i've advanced to a level when I can actually wear this print.

I know i'm kind of jumping on the bandwagon, but I just had to rave about Trevor Dixon 's wonderful work which I have been seeing popping up.
He has the ability to take something so ordinary and turn it into focal interest. I love how he collects things in the frame which are pleasing because of pattern, contrast, or just by being the subject.
