INTERIOR DESIGN
http://www.designspongeonline.com/
Who doesn't love Design * Sponge? The basic must-read for any interior decor lover. With daily home tours, real DIY/makeover stories + instructions, furniture round-ups, and many more goodies, this is the place to go for a taste of the latest trends. Grace Bonney always picks tasteful and incredibly chic homes which still seem altogether within reach and practical. What can I say, i'm such a voyeur! Oh, and their DIY tutorials feature the completely adorable couple -Derek and Lauren of the Curiosity Shoppe. Need I say more?

Holly Becker is something else altogether. I oogle at the endless gorgeous, polished interiors. Architectural detailing is discussed with finesse and approachability. Product spotlights showcase great brands with style and substance. What's so fantastic about this site is the interviews and in depth analysis which gives insight into the industry. Although the page does take up a whole lot of virtual memory...

Australia's favorite hot mom! Karen Cheng is a web designer and fashion junkie who is the epitome of every girl's dream - sophisticated, creative, gorgeous, succesful, and just turned 30. Her poignant stories of everyday triumphs and ordinary beauty are captivating. For the past four years, i've been following her inspiring episodes on seeing her husband win the battle over cancer twice, her everyday fun exploits in raising her two sons, and the formation of the now wildly popular facebook group "Doing The Karen Cheng". I love that she's always on the optimistic and bright side of life. An inspiration indeed!

Everyday i'm eager to visit her site to see what she's wearing. (She posts a cute sidebar of everyday's outfit). Dressing modestly without cutting back on style, Whitney Deal has her own sweet and simple style. I love seeing her handmade clothes. She's also a photographer and creative person, as evident from those darling d.i.y projects in her recent wedding - you got to see it to know what i'm talking about... In case you were wondering, Dexter is not her husband's name, it's their dog's :)

is a relatively new blog read for me but her concept isn't. A 'design scout', Abigail posts beautiful photos of things which inspire her. Homes, craft, fabric, products... and sometimes she writes about her personal life too. What really got me is what her husband gave her for her last birthday: 52 envelopes with handwritten notes and enough cash in each of them to buy a bouquet of flowers a week from the shop across the street. She's learning floral arrangements and every week Abbey posts photos of the bouquet he 'bought' her. So sweet!

Joy Deeangdelert Cho is an incredibly talented designer of paper goods. Recently married in a fabulous, much-blogged-about wedding, she's a rare gem who stamps her own personal style in every project she touches. Her signature minimalistic, clean and modern designs are a breath of fresh air and so pleasing to the eye. Her line of products, Nantaka Joy, are the toast of the blogging community and you only need to visit the site once to see why.

They say we're not to judge a book by its cover. But go to the book cover archive to see beautifully designed book covers.
Very informative, tells you the book cover designer and even the typeface used.
I loved browsing through it.

More interesting paper collages found here . Love the use of decoupage and upside down lettering. Seamless arrangements well contained in that all important border. The vintage graffitti is a nice touch.

Another lamb slain on the altar of political expediency. Another bright-burning flame in our political landscape has been snuffed out prematurely.
A competent assemblywoman forced to resign her post due to embarassment caused to the party too close for comfort to crucial by-elections.
Let me get this straight. Someone, without her permission, took photographs of her sleeping in the nude, and circulated them in the public. Subsequent to this invasion of privacy, the victim has been subject to all kinds of name-calling, mud-slinging and labelling? How can that be fair?
We have lost a politician who actually believed in the causes she fought for, and tried her best. An enviromentalist, activist, and a brave woman.
I've had it with this country.

To My Valentine
Mr. J,
Five valentines ago, you braved four hours of traffic jam to bring me on a picnic I didn't want to go on.
Four valentines ago, we fished and quarelled - then made up.
Three valentines ago, we ditched superstition for shoes and a watch - Robert Harris was the height of romance.
Two valentines ago, we wined and dined in the springs, then planned a party for everyone else.
One valentine ago, we had chili pan mee in the heart of the city.
Then there was yesterday. A romantic comedy of Shakespearean proportions. Mod photoshoots, being barred from a park, Soba + Ramen and a daunting conversation. Let's not even begin to mention Saturday's steamboat/bbq fiasco with the chemicals senerading...
All in all, a great celebration indeed. Our style. Truth is, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

p.s- you stole my idea for the crossword.. i was going to do that :)

I find this new parenting campaign all very interesting. Sure beats your typical consumer advertising billboards.
Oh, and it flat outranks your Malaysian "berhati-hati di jalan raya" or "dadah membawa maut" campaigns. No question.
junaida

Show some love for the psychopatic designs on junaida . Plenty of eye candy over there, if this is what floats your boat. chandeliers

shadow

It's been awhile since I posted anything cat-related. (to my non-cat friendly readers, apologies for my cat-centricness)I love the cat shelf with its cool background that color me katie made for her cat. By the way, you should check out her blog. It's so full of color and laughter. She's a paper-loving photographer with a penchant for all things wacky. I love reading her escapades, her zest for life is infectious and totally adorable. Never fails to make me smile :)
Im imagining Shadow sitting by a window, watching snowflakes fall. Sinking his paws in fresh snow for the first time. Haha, that would be a sight to behold!

hair today... gone tomorrow
It's that time again. The uncontrollable time. The time when the urge seizes me to cut my hair!
I've been meaning to keep my hair long for the past 4 years, but everytime it hits the shoulders and starts looking messy, I inevitable chop it off. Hairstylists dont seem to understand the meaning of the word 'trim'..
I know I really should persevere and give it a chance, but shoulder length is the worst stage to manage, really. Neither here nor there. Perhaps I will, perhaps I wont.
I'm thinking along the lines of...

To my lovely readers
Surprise! A sleeker, trimmer look.
I've trimmed the sidebar and gotten rid of the labels list which was getting annoying as well as redundant.
Plus, i've added a long links list for your browsing pleasure. Happiness is just a click away :)
Have a wonderful day!
